Dr. Krishna Chauhan is Professor of economics at Buddha Bhanu Saraswati College under North Eastern Hill University, Shillong Meghalaya India. He is a noted economist with varied professional affiliations holding several key positions in academic and social organisations as researcher, think tank, advisor and Executive Member. He is an Expert Member (Economist) of the Meghalaya State Planning Board, Government of Meghalaya since 2018. As a teacher he has taught Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Environmental and resource economics, Issues on Economics of Rural Development of North East India etc. His work has been published in various scholarly journals and volumes. As a reviewer and editor of journal and magazines he has been contributing his expertise immensely for the benefit of research. He has been resource persons to various workshops, seminars, conferences, debates and discussions contributing towards policy formulation at both government and non-government organisational level. As a Member of the Governing Body of several institutions and welfare bodies, he is continuously working in policy frameworks for fostering the cause of the institutions. He is also advisor to youth and social organisation and considered frontrunner in the social work/services.
